Privacy Policy

Effective date: March 3, 2026/Last reviewed: May 25, 2026

Introduction

Welcome to Hynexly ("we", "us", or "our"). We operate the website hynexly.com (the "Service"). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our Service and the choices you have associated with that data.

We use your data to provide and improve the Service. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. Analytics and advertising cookies are used only with separate consent.

Cookies & Third-Party Advertising

We and our third-party advertising partners use cookies and similar tracking technologies to serve ads, measure ad performance, and personalize advertising content on our Service.

Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on our Service. Google's use of the DoubleClick cookie enables it and its partners to serve ads to our users based on their visit to our Service or other websites on the Internet.

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to our website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to our users based on their browsing history.

The Google AdSense ad script loads only when approval status, environment configuration, and the user's advertising-cookie consent conditions are all satisfied.

You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.

Third-Party Ad Personalization

Third-party vendors, including Google AdSense, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's previous visits to our website and other websites. These cookies allow third-party vendors and ad networks to serve targeted advertisements to our visitors.

We do not have control over the cookies used by third-party advertisers. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of these third-party ad servers or ad networks for more information on their practices and for instructions on how to opt out of certain practices.

Manage cookie preferences

You can change your analytics and advertising cookie choices at any time:

Third-party services & processors

We use the following third-party services to operate the site. Each is listed with the data it processes and the consent or legal basis under which it runs.

  • Google Analytics 4 - aggregated, anonymised usage metrics (page views, session duration, referrer). IP addresses are anonymised by Google before storage. Loaded only after you opt in via the Analytics purpose in the cookie banner.
  • Google AdSense - ad delivery and (when permitted) personalisation. Loaded only after you opt in via the Advertising purpose and approval plus environment conditions are satisfied. Google's own privacy controls are at policies.google.com/privacy.
  • Google OAuth (sign-in) - authentication for admin and commenting. We receive your email and profile name when you choose to sign in; we never request additional Google scopes.
  • Cloudflare - hosting, DDoS protection, and CDN. Server access logs (IP, user-agent, request path) are retained for up to 90 days under our legitimate-interest basis for security and abuse investigation.
  • GitHub - backend storage for committed articles, comments, and (fingerprinted + encrypted) newsletter subscriber records. Commits are part of the editorial workflow and visible in the public repository.

Personal-data transfers outside the EU/UK/EEA (notably to the United States, where Google and Cloudflare process data) rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. Korean transfers rely on PIPA Art. 17(3) and Art. 28-8.

Your Rights

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK Data Protection Act, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and equivalent laws in other jurisdictions, you have the following rights regarding personal data we hold about you:

  • Right of access - request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right of rectification - ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
  • Right of erasure ('right to be forgotten') - ask us to delete personal data we no longer need.
  • Right to restrict processing - ask us to pause processing in certain circumstances.
  • Right to data portability - receive your personal data in a portable format.
  • Right to object - object to processing based on legitimate interests, including direct marketing.
  • Right to withdraw consent - withdraw any consent you have given (e.g., for analytics or advertising cookies) at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before the withdrawal.
  • Right to lodge a complaint - file a complaint with your local data protection authority.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at the address below. We will respond within 30 days. You can manage cookie consent at any time using the button below.

Data Retention

We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy.

  • Account data (email, name, sign-in records): retained while your account is active and for up to 12 months after account closure for fraud prevention.
  • Comments & community posts: retained until you delete them or your account.
  • Newsletter subscriptions: retained until you unsubscribe; we keep an unsubscribe record so we don't email you again.
  • Contact-form messages: retained for 24 months for support history, then deleted.
  • Server access logs: retained for up to 90 days for security and abuse investigation.
  • Cookie consent record: retained for 12 months from the date you last reviewed your choices.
